In Grandia II magic appears in the form of the eight basic elements of Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, Lightning, Blizzard, Forest and Explosion. No character has a specific magic moveset as magic is used by equipping certain Mana Eggs. When equipped, these eggs give the wearer the ability to use specific elemental magic linked to that egg. The selection of spells increases when Magic Coins are used to increase the eggs level.

Each spell has a base level it learned when a mana egg is leveled up, in addition, each spell can have its level increased to a maximum of 5. By increasing a spells level, the time it takes to cast the spell is reduced and the spells power is increased.

BlizzardEdit

Blizzard magic has two purposes, the first is to deal damage and the second is to weaken the foe. Blizzard magic is the focus of the Holy and Chaos eggs.

EarthEdit

Earth magic has the tendency to affect the defense of both your party and the foes. It can also be used to attack ranged foes. Earth magic is the focus of the Holy egg.

ExplosionEdit

Explosion magics key usage is to cause huge amounts of damage to foes but if not often learned until Mana eggs reach a high level. Explosion magic is the focus of the Dragon and Gravity eggs.

FireEdit

Fire magic is used to deal small to medium level damage to a variety of foes. Fire magic is the focus of the Chaos, Dragon and Star eggs.

ForestEdit

Forest magic is used to cure a variety of status debuffs the party is inflicted with, in addition to this, forest magic can be used to cause status abnormalities to foes. Forest magic is the focus of the Fairy and Mist eggs.

LightningEdit

Lightning magic is mainly used to cause heavy damage to a large number of foes. Lightning magic is the focus of the Chaos, Dragon and Soul eggs.

WaterEdit

Water magic's primary focus is to heal the HP of the party but one spell is used to put all foes to sleep. Water magic is the focus of the Fairy, Holy, Mist and Soul eggs.

Wind magic is used to deal low to mind range damage to a large range of foes. Some wind spells also have the ability to increase party stats or provide status abnormalities to foes. Wind magic is the focus of the Chaos, Mist and Soul eggs.
